Arian Foster Fantasy Football #1 or not

Arian Foster was everyones first pick in the fantasy football world, but after his latest injury I would think twice about his value. Foster was a good running back at the university of Tennessee, but injury affected his college career production. Last year was a great year for Foster, over 1600 yards rushing and more than 50 catches. It was a brake out year but it's just one year. Don't get me wrong Fosters a explosive back but with his latest hamstring injury, is he worth a number one pick. Foster sustain the injury in training camp, probably the result of a short mini camp following the lockout this off season. After a couple preseason and about twenty carries later the hamstring injury is back. Which would lead me to believe he was never a 100%. Foster played through a injury last year and didn't tell anyone about it not wanting to loss his starting position. A hamstring injury is alot harder to play with than the injury Foster sustain last season, and if not given the injury enough time to fully heal the hamstring could plague him all season long. That tells me it might not be the best year in Foster's career. Second string running back Ben Tate has looked explosive in the preseason. So if you do decide or have already picked him try to grab Ben Tate in the later rounds or free agentcy for insurance.

Get the winning teams every week right here

I will be posting my NFL picks on my blog every thursday before 5:00 pm. Starting first week of season.

Vick

Why Mike Vick should be #1 pick in fantasy football

Mike Vick is the best duel QB in the game today and proabally ever. Last season I picked Vick in my fantasy football league, and everyone in my league was waiting for him fail. How could they forget that just a couple seasons ago he was the most explosive player not just QB, but player in the NFL. Paired with an  excellent coach, Vick was unstopable. Not only was his legs fresh. he was a better passer. No team wanted to touch him. Not more than three or four teams would give him a chance. All the teams that needed and still need a QB passed on Vick. Teams like the Seahawks,Titans, Miami, San Francico, Oakland, Washington, Vickings, Cardinals, and Bills. By the time comessioner Goodell cleared him to play ,there were only oupleams that wanted Vick. That was the Eagels and the Buffalo Bills. Vick wanted to start right away for a team, and with the Bills he would have a chance. After talking it over with his advisors he chose the Eagles. It worked out perfectly for both parties.Vick played spairingly the first seaon, but at the end of the season McNab was traded and Vick was number two behind Kevin Kolb. However, that would only last an off season, and four regualr season games. Vick was once again a starter in the NFL. He went on to take his team to the playoffs as he did my fantasy football team. He didn't win the superbowl, but he help my fantasy football team win. He played only eleven games that season, and still his fantasy points were among the top five. So if I were you, I wouldn't pass up Micheal Vick or you might end up like those teams that pass on him. "Losers".

New Orleans Saints Super Bowl run

This year is looking to be a great year for the Saints. Coach Sean Payton has done a effective job coaching up the rookies that did not have much time in camp. General manager Mickey Loomis brought in some good players through free agentcy and the draft. First round pick Mark Ingram remines me of a Emmit Smith formly with the Dallas Cowboys. Ingrams not the fastest player on the field but has great technique and very explosive. He is a instinctive runner and at 5-9 220 is the right size for running between the tackles. The Saints took Californias defensive end Cameron Jordan with their first pick in the first round. Jordan is a stout defender against the run and can drive his opponent into the pocket. Jordan and Will Smith will make a excellent pear at the defensive end spots. The saints brought in one of the best free agent classes in the NFL. Former number one pick defensive tackle Shaun Rogers was signed through free agentcy to shore up the defensive line. Darren Sproles was sign out of free agentcy to be a Reggie Bush type of player return punts, catch short passes and turn them into long gains. Sproles has explosive speed and will be right at home in Paytons offense. The offensive line looks as good as ever so the running game should be every strong. That will give Drew  Brees more plays down feild which means more touchdowns. But its the defense that has the franchise thinking Super Bowl this year. Look for the defense to carry the offense through the second half of the season and into the playoffs.
